On September 11, 2001, America and the world were stunned by a tragedy that struck the nation. 9/11 is considered a black day in American history, as several individuals lost their lives while many others were left with an unrepairable void for life. 22 years have passed since this somber occurrence, and people around the world have not forgotten this day. It was the 22nd anniversary of this tragic event yesterday, and the world is remembering the martyrs of 9/11.

Lindsey Vonn, the celebrated American Alpine skier, also joined hands with the world to pay tribute to the people who lost their lives in the mayhem. This former alpine skier has joined hands with America to pay tribute to the 9/11 martyrs in a recent update on her social media.

She took to her Instagram story to post a video of the New York City Fire Department paying homage to the 9/11 heroes. Vonn reposted this video on the gram with heartbreak emojis. In the video, the Fire Department band is playing a symphony on the streets of New York City.

The original post by the department is captioned, “The FDNY Emerald Society playing Amazing Grace at the sunset ceremony in front of the quarters of Engine 10 and Ladder 10. We will Never Forget.”

In this fateful terrorist attack, four aircraft crashed in separate locations, resulting in the tragic loss of nearly 3,000 lives. Two of these hijacked planes crashed into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York. The third one crashed into the Pentagon building in Virginia, while the last one crashed in rural Pennsylvania.

22 years have passed since this tragic incident happened, but the world has not forgotten it, and mourners from around the globe are pouring in for the ones who lost their lives during the incident. Lindsey Vonn was not the sole athlete to offer her tributes to the martyrs; there were several others who joined her.
