Lindsey Vonn is one of the most successful Alpine skiers in the world. Despite the failures and setbacks she faced on her journey to success, she has always come back stronger. Her undying spirit is what she inherited from her mother, Lindy Anne Lund. Ever since Lindsey was a kid, she saw her mother struggle with her health. More often than not, it restricted her mother from carrying out the most mundane of tasks. Recently in an interview, Vonn got emotional while talking about her mother’s health condition and how that impacted her.

Despite the struggles and failures, Anne Lund never gave up. Instead, she tried harder. This in turn shaped Lindsey Vonn into the strong woman that she is today. Unfortunately, the fighter mom passed away in 2022 after fighting a tough battle against ALS disease for a year.

Lindsey Vonn recently appeared on the latest episode of the podcast, Dear Chelsea. During their chat, Chelsea Handler asked Vonn to shed light on the influence her late mother had on her life. To this, Vonn replied, “I think my mom impacted me in more ways than I even really truly understand now.”

She revealed that her mother had a stroke soon after giving birth to her. Because of this, her mother wasn’t able to physically do the things Vonn would’ve loved to do with her. But that didn’t mean her mother never tried. On the contrary, she did, and even when she failed, she tried again. Vonn added, “She would try to ride a bike, and I would watch her fall over and over and over again, but she always got back up, and she always tried, and she always had a smile.”
