The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, 2019, featured some gorgeous women from the sports world. Lindsey Vonn was one of the female athletes photographed for the same. Olympic gymnast Simone Biles and UFC fighter Paige Vanzant joined the skiing champion in the Sports Illustrated photoshoot, which was held at Puerto Vallarta. Lindsey Vonn exudes an unmistakable aura of confidence every time she dons her skis, and she brought the same intensity in front of the camera.

The result were some fantabulous photos clicked by Walter Chin in the tropical heaven that is Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. Vonn hypnotized the entire world with her sultry looks, capturing the undivided attention of anyone looking. This is not the first time the 82-time World Cup race winner has been featured in a prominent Sports Illustrated shoot. Lindsey Vonn made her SI debut back in 2010. The place was Whistler, Canada and the photographer was Warwick Saint. Post that, she was featured again in 2016 in a body-painting theme. 2019 marked her third appearance in the magazine. And while she was dripping with charisma, inside Vonn’s mind, the ghosts of the past lingered.

When Lindsey Vonn appeared in Sports Illustrated for the first time, the athlete was unsure of herself and “pretty nervous”. Turns out, seeing herself from a different perspective is the push she needed. According to a report by Yahoo!, she said, “I think being featured in the magazine made me look at myself in a different, more positive light.” Vonn finally understood her athletic body was “something to be proud of and celebrated”. Over the years, these shoots mapped out a transformation that turned a legendary sportsperson into an iconic fashionista who never fails to amaze.

The effortless transformation from ski slopes to red carpets

Even when she was conquering steep slaloms, Lindsey Vonn had her hands in the fashion pie. Recently, she launched her Legacy Collection 2022-2023 with the Austrian brand Head. The queen also slayed at the Paris Haute Couture Week which took place from 3-6 July. One of Vonn’s close friends, Thom Browne, was debuting a collection at the Paris Week, and the skier was invited to attend. As Thom Browne stole the runway with his looks, Vonn stole the show with her glamorous outfit.

The three-time Olympic medalist sure knows how to show up. Another reason why Gucci recently paired up with Vonn while launching their “Vault Altitude”, a curated skiing collection from various brands. As Vonn told ELLE magazine, “No one does it like Gucci does it.” And who better to represent Gucci than a champion skier who dominates the slopes and looks good while doing it? There is no doubt about the fact that in addition to making it big in the world of Alpine skiing, Lindsey Vonn has been able to prove her clout as a celebrated fashion icon, with much to offer.
