Lindsey Vonn is alpine skiing royalty. She was the first American woman to win a gold medal in the Olympics for downhill. The three-time Olympic champion may have retired in 2019, but her presence still looms large at whichever events she attends. Most recently, Vonn, a tennis enthusiast, was in London to catch up on a few games of the ongoing Wimbledon Championship.

Such occasions showcase icons of their individual sports coming together in order to celebrate greatness. One such moment unfolded at the ongoing Wimbledon championship when Lindsey Vonn met the 2023 French Open Champion, Iga Swiatek, and the remarkable talent of Frances Tiafoe. Vonn took to her Instagram stories to share pictures from the tournament.

Lindsey Vonn caught up with the new breed of tennis stars

Vonn, a champion in her own right, brought her magnetic presence to the famed grass courts of Wimbledon. The Olympic champion tagged Tiafoe and captioned the Instagram story “W” followed by a bicep emoji. Tiafoe jumped and sent a powerful serve across to his opponent, who could only find the net. Both Americans caught up after the match and were all smiles. Vonn later reshared Tiafoe’s Instagram story, wherein the tennis star tagged Vonn and wrote, “Pulled up on the kid. Big love,” followed by a crossed fingers emoji.

Lindsey Vonn also uploaded an Instagram story with Iga Swiatek, the young Polish player who has taken women’s tennis by storm and is currently the number one women’s tennis player. Both athletes were in big smiles and had their arms around each other. Vonn tagged the 2023 French Open Champion and Rolex and captioned her story, “So great to see you,” followed by a heart and trophy emoji. All three athletes are bound to share the common traits of champions, such as perseverance, resilience, skill, and a strong desire to achieve their goals. This is not Vonn’s first exposure to a tennis court. In fact, the legendary skier is quite passionate about tennis.

Lindsey Vonn’s love for tennis

Three-time Olympic champion Lindsey Vonn adores the sport of tennis and is a huge fan of Roger Federer. So much so that the skier played a match against the tennis legend at a height of 3,454 meters above sea level in Switzerland. She frequents tennis tournaments, and last year she was seen at Arthur Ashe Stadium during the U.S. Open with her boyfriend.
