Lindsey Vonn, the three-time Olympic gold medalist skier, and tennis legend, Roger Federer have been friends for many years. The queen of slopes once got into a game with the Swiss Maestro at the Jungfraujoch at 3454 meters above sea level in the Alps for the opening of the Lindt Swiss Chocolate Heaven.

Vonn is a true sports fan. The tennis court was set on the picturesque, the largest in the Swiss Alps. Although she was more of skis than racquets and balls, she gave it a shot. Notably, the tennis G.O.A.T was surprised by her skills.
Lindsey Vonn made some good shots
While the audience couldn’t be more excited to witness a friendly face-off between two prominent faces in their respective sports, Vonn and Federer stood on either side of the net sporting freezing-cold weather-friendly gear.

Vonn demonstrated her spirit to give her best despite not practicing the game. After the match, she shared, “I’m not very good, still, but I had some good shots, and it was good to get a point.” Set in the backdrop of the Swiss Alps, the match not only made splendid memories for the legendary duo but also for their fans.
Vonn and Federer have been good friends since then. After an illustrious career, spanning more than two decades of falling and rising strongly. The record 82 World Cup winner and the first female to win a medal at six World Championships, Vonn retired in 2019. In a classic gesture of camaraderie, Roger congratulated her on a video call minutes after the last run of her career.

The skiing legend retired before the time she planned due to health issues. On the video call was Federer, “Hey Lindsey. It’s me. Many, many congratulations on a wonderful career. I know you tried everything in the last few months to get ready. I was thinking of you. I was watching you…. Well done. You can be so so proud…” Lindsey’s happiness knew no bounds. Filled with euphoria on listening to her dear friend, she said, “Rog, you are the best man.”
