A new update in Alpine Skiing world came to Aleksander Kilde’s rescue

According to the live streaming, the inaugural men’s Alpine skiing World Cup race faced cancellation in S?lden, Austria. The decision has been taken due to high winds, impacting 47 of the 73 skiers who completed their initial run.? Now forecasts predict escalating winds throughout the day, as stated by the International Ski Federation (FIS), so race won’t be continued. What is the biggest good part of it?

It is the “non-countancy” of results. Marco Schwarz of Austria emerged with the fastest first run, leading Swiss skier Marco Odermatt, the reigning World Cup overall champion, by 29 hundredths. However, the results were nullified. So, it is for Mikaela Shiffrin’s boyfriend, who got the 10th position.

And FIS has yet to disclose plans for a potential makeup race, leaving uncertainty about when or where it might be scheduled. The cancellation disrupted the anticipated competition, with top-ranked skiers completing their first run before the event’s termination.

Why the race has been canceled abruptly?

The cancellation of the race is the final decision made in a way to prioritize safety & fairness amid extreme wind conditions for athletes who are out of the race. Currently, the weather condition isn’t good in Austria. So, as per the live commentary, none of what has happened will count and will go as cancellation.

Many were yet to run and many as addressed above already given their performances. Out of which Mikaela Shiffrin’s boyfriend, is saved by the wind and has fortunately got a lifeline to nail the run once again.

Additionally, the upcoming men’s World Cup features two downhill races on the Italy-Switzerland border on November 11-12, while the women will compete in two slaloms in Levi, Finland, during the same period.
