Lindsey Vonn prays for Hilaree Nelson’s safety 

Joining a thousand others, Lindsey Vonn took to Twitter to pray and extend her support for US mountaineer Hilaree Nelson. For the unversed, Hilaree was en route to reaching the world’s eight tallest peaks. However, as ill luck could have it, the mother of two has gone missing!

Going by the reports, it says that earlier on Monday, she reached the summit of Mount Manaslu in Nepal with her partner Jim Morrison. However, 15 minutes after reaching the summit of 26,781ft peak, she slipped and fell into a 2,000ft crevasse (ice gap). Prayers started to pour in for her safety as the news came out.

Versed with the world of snow and mountain, Lindsey, too, joined in for prayers. Captioning her post as Praying for Hilaree 🙏🏻” The Olympic medalist also re-tweeted the news wherein it was confirmed that Hilaree had gone missing.

Seeing Lindsey’s post, her fans, too, joined in. Many users showed their support by dropping in the folded hand emoji. Extending support, one user wrote, “our prayers are for her safety and life.”

The details so far

A local guide working with the couple informed that “her ski blade skidded off and [she] fell off the other side of the peak.” Hilaree went missing from Bhimthanka. Earlier that day, due to an avalanche, one person was killed, and a dozen others were left injured. While Morrison returned to the camp after the incident. Everyone awaits Hilaree’s safe return. Due to bad weather, the officials could not conduct the search operations.

For the unversed, Hilary Nelson and Morrison are two of the most accomplished and reputed alpinists and backcountry skiers. Together they have braved some of the world’s most challenging and tallest peaks. In 2018, they became the first to ski down Mount Lhotse in Nepal.
