Lindsey Vonn, a three-time Olympic alpine skier turned businesswoman, is a bundle of skills. The skiing legend is one of the greatest skiers ever. She survived several injuries and setbacks to achieve a record 82 World Cup wins. Besides, she is also renowned for her sense of charity and love for animals.

As a dog mom, she is a proud parent of Leo, Lucy, and Jade. Vonn’s social media handles are flooded with pictures demonstrating the adorable bond she shares with her pets. Vonn treats them like family and is grateful for the love they shower on her. Also, for being by her side through thick and thin. Recently, the athlete took to her Instagram to share an adorable picture of her and her ‘boy.’

Lindsey Vonn considers her dogs as family

Dogs hold a special place in Vonn’s life. Going through injuries, a sense of void after retirement, and her mother’s loss recently, Vonn has been trying to overcome the mental turmoil. Undoubtedly, her dogs have helped her deal with emotional stress.

Just as a true dog mom would address her baby dogs, Vonn posted a picture of cuddling her dog as he was sleeping. “My Boy Makes Me So Happy,” she captioned. Also, Vonn strikes a pleasant smile as she clicked the selfie. On close observation of her hairstyle, one may assume that it’s a photo clicked after an intense session of workout.

It was not long ago since the skier fell in love with dogs. Vonn had undergone two serious knee surgeries. In 2014, before her second injury that she adopted her first dog, Leo, who also had a bad knee. Leo was hit by a speeding car. In an Instagram post, empathizing with the dog, she wrote“Maybe we can do rehab together.”

Vonn was in a wrecked state after her knee injuries. Suffering from depression was one of the reasons why she started adopting dogs. Furthermore, she underscored how dogs helped her to regain hope and lift her spirits. “It definitely did the trick.”

Vonn teamed up with Allianz to share the positivity and support the athletes emotionally as they prepare themselves for the Games. With a noble motive of helping the athletes ease their stress because of uncertainty brought on by the pandemic, Vonn and the SupportDogSquad make an effort to keep the athlete’s mental state in a good shape. “Being with dogs makes you happier,” she said.
