Dealing with a loss of a parent is never easy. And Skiing Queen, Mikaela Shiffrin, knows this firsthand. Shiffrin lost her father in 2020 in a tragic accident wherein he sustained a fatal head injury. She was a wreck after his sudden untimely death. To this date, Shiffrin never misses a chance to remember her father and her biggest supporter, Jeff Shiffrin.

Through these tough times, Shiffrin’s fans have mourned the loss along with her. Today, as the skiing world champion misses her father, her fans are there to remind her how proud Jeff must’ve been of her.

Mikaela Shiffrin shares a meaningful photo

On 20th March 2023, Mikaela Shiffrin took to Instagram to share a photo of a photographer capturing the moment she was on a podium collecting her medal. The man in the frame was none other than her late father, Jeff Shiffrin. The caption of the post read, “March 16, 2019🤍.” The post was a photo that was taken a year before Papa Shiffrin passed away.

Along with being her greatest supporter, Jeff was Mikaela’s photographer too. Whenever his little princess competed, more often than not, the proud dad could be seen in the stands capturing the precious moments. After her father passed away, Shiffrin nearly quit the sport. However, she held on to it for him only.

Whenever these bouts of sadness hit the skier, her fans are there to encourage or support her. Shiffrin’s recent post about Jeff has left the fandom, too, in tears.

Fans remember the proud father of the skier

Soon after the post was shared, fans took to the comments section to remind the skier her father is watching over her from heaven. An emotional fan commented, “So precious. Proud papa 💓.He would be crying right now like some of us.” Another fan added, “He’s watching you and he’s so proud of you Miki!! ❤❤❤.”

A third fan wrote, “He might be on the other side and yet he’s sight still on you. Cherished all the memories and keep going on.” One fan reassured, “I’m sure that you are never out of his sight! ❤” A fan motivated her and wrote, “He was there yesterday as well 🤗❤ I am sure.” Proud of her achievements, one more fan commented, “He is sooo proud of you & the Woman you became ❤❤❤”
