Lindsey Vonn, the Olympic gold medalist, and former ski champion, has received an outpouring of support from her fans. This happened after a recent troll abused her on social media. The alpine skier has received similar hate comments in the past and shirked it off as utter nonsense each time. This time was no different. But the way she dismissed her troll has captivated the attention of many.

Lindsey Vonn responded to the offensive comment with class by displaying remarkable grace and maturity. Instead of stooping to the troll’s level and engaging in a war of words, Vonn chose to take the high road. This way, she chose to honor the troll’s first amendment rights despite being called a communist, in other words, an anti-nationalist.

Lindsey Vonn has won multiple prestigious tournaments on behalf of the nation, including the Olympic games. She took retirement from skiing competitively in 2019 because of several injuries. Since then, Vonn has dedicated herself to running the Lindsey Vonn Foundation, which she founded in 2015. Through her foundation, she has helped countless girls achieve their dreams. Therefore, it made no sense to call her a communist and a “traitor.” The troll’s rant against Vonn was both unfounded and unjustified.

It is clear that this online troll named Lucy had no information about Vonn’s achievements. In fact, she even called her by the wrong name and also thought she was a man. Her post read, “Lindsey Vonnegut is an ugly man !! The worst figure ,.. ugliest face !! Traitor to America !! Ugly throughout ; communist insurrectionist warp minded dwarf misfit of society !! Bad for America !!” Lindsey did not let this baseless attack go unanswered.

In her reply, Lindsey tweeted, “Well, considering you can’t spell my name right I’m not concerned about your opinion. Have a lovely day”. This is not the first time the skier has shut down a troll on social media. In 2018 she had a similar experience but fired back with an epic response.

In 2018, Lindsey Vonn could not earn a medal at the Winter Olympics. Her haters took the chance to mock and criticize her on social media. Later when she also finished sixth in the Women’s Super-G, the abuse became more intense. The legendary skier spoke to a correspondent from CNN and said, “That’s what bullies want you to do. I stand by my values, I’m not going to back down.”

She did not want to waste her time replying to the baseless comments saying, “I may not be as vocal right now with my opinions, but that doesn’t mean that they won.” Looks like she hasn’t changed her mind. Even now, she chooses to disregard Lucy’s opinions. Also, with her fans rallying behind her, she doesn’t need to worry about the negativity directed at her online.
