Everyone watching the Men’s Downhill World Cup in Kitzbuhel witnessed a terrifying moment on Friday. Decorated Norwegian alpine skier Aleksander Aamodt Kilde saved himself from getting into a horrible accident during his downhill performance. He later uploaded pictures from the incident on his Instagram account, confessing how scary it was.

The skiing world was left chilled to the bone, including former Olympian medalist, Lindsey Vonn. Vonn reacted to Kilde’s post, who is also the boyfriend of her friend and fellow alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin

During his accelerated downhill attempt, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde almost crashed into the nets after losing control. While addressing his fans about the incident on social media, he opened up about his feelings. He wrote, “The Streif: one hell of a ride is right😅…not really an ideal position to be in when you’re going 130km/h. That was a close call, and I’m not going to lie – it was scary. 🫣😳 Sending my best to my teammate @henrikroa who had a bad crash and broke his leg.😢” 

Although, he lost his control, Kilde did a brilliant job of getting out of the collision. Former US alpine skier, Lindsey Vonn, reacted to the incident and wrote, “That was a close call!!”

Another American downhill champion, Daron Rahlves commented, “Giving us some wild DH action. Nice recovery!! Go get em 👊🏻.”

His girlfriend and American skiing star, Mikael Shiffrin reacted with multiple emojis. She commented, “😵😣😣🤕😑.”

On the other hand, some fans applauded his fitness and asked him to be more careful in the future. They wrote –

“Where fitness and preparation meet adversity.”

“Can you please avoid doing such things tomorrow? Not good for normal human hearts… 😰”
