The skiing icon has achieved lots of milestones in her life, whether it be Olympics gold medals, creating World Cup records, or becoming an entrepreneur, author, and philanthropist. Vonn has done everything with complete dedication and self-belief. However, the question that stands is, didn’t she get afraid of the new beginnings? Didn’t she doubt herself? Lindsey Vonn revealed the secret beautifully in the interview.

When the interviewer from ‘Thought Economics’ asked Vonn“What is your relationship with fear?” She answered, “This might sound strange, but I’ve never been ‘afraid’,” she said. She continued, “I’ve certainly been nervous- very nervous- but I’ve never been afraid. That’s what has allowed me to come back from injuries- I’m not afraid of the consequences. I know the risks, I accept the risks, but I’m not afraid of the risks. Fear can be quite debilitating as a mindset–and can stop people from achieving the things they want to.”

Further, she disclosed a piece of precious advice given by her father. She added, “My dad always said you can’t win until you don’t care. That’s how I approached it. My goal was to ski the best I could, as fast as I could, and I didn’t care. I would rather crash than come to the finish line knowing I could have done better.” Even now, Vonn follows her dad’s advice and continues to take risks and challenges, no matter how difficult they might be.

Vonn reminds her fan to have the guts to show up every day.

Lindsey Vonn has worked tirelessly throughout her long career. Even though she has accomplished tremendously during that, it has its adverse effects with time. Similarly, with Vonn, after grinding those knees for years, the knee has retaliated back in the last few years.
