One of the greatest ski racers of all time, Mikaela Shiffrin’s journey to success is a major inspiration for all. With a strong head, solid technique, and extraordinary physical strength, she rose to the pinnacle of success. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist and six-time world champion, following her quest to ski with passion and perseverance.

Expanding her records with a 90th World Cup victory and a 55th in slalom, she is the reigning champion in this sport. Recently, the Alpine skiing legend took to her Instagram handle and remembered her late father. She is now preparing herself for her next big event.

Mikaela Shiffrin shares a heartwarming message from her late father

Mikaela Shiffrin recalled her late father’s statement of encouragement. And, recalling this go-go mantra, she shared it via her recent Instagram post. One of the most decorated skiing legends Mikaela captioned her post as ‘’A.B.F.T.T.B. If you know, you know. 🤫’’.

Mikaela Shiffrin also posted multiple pictures of herself and exposed her helmet. Soon after Mikaela Shiffrin’s post surfaced on the internet, fans started commenting and wishing her the best of luck for the bright future ahead.

When she was 6 years old, Shiffrin’s parents gave her a poster autographed and signed by Heidi Voelker.  The three-time U.S. Olympian Voelker mentioned “A.B.F.T.T.B.” in her signature and also explained it as “Always Be Faster Than the Boys.”

Mikaela was never trained for skiing. “Skis are designed to make smooth arcs in the snow,”  her father Jeff,  revealed in an interview. On 2 February, 2020, Mikaela Shiffrin lost her father in a terrible accident. After her father’s death, Mikaela thought about giving up skiing entirely. But, her family came together in support. Her brother persuaded her to continue skiing.

Shiffrin’s dad had consistently had a positive influence in all of her tournaments. From her personal photographer to her confidant, his support was the source of Shiffrin’s strength. Her father always kept a watchful eye on her, even though she was at the peak of her career. Shiffrin’s father taught her that she could stop skiing whenever she felt like as nothing was more important than herself.

Post her father’s death, Shiffrin faced an emotional turmoil, struggling to cope up. However, cherishing her father’s continued support till the end that will stay with her for a lifetime, she pulled herself out of the grief to ski again. Her indulgence in skiing and facing competition again was a tribute to her late father.
