While Mikaela Shiffrin stands atop the alpine skiing summit, her Norwegian boyfriend Aleksander Kilde is still climbing the mountain of greatness. Both of them are taking part in the ongoing Audi FIS Alpine Ski World 2023/24, and both are doing great, although Shiffrin is a step ahead.

While Shiffrin continues her quest for a historic century of World Cup victories, Kilde skied down the hills in Italy as the men’s leg reached Val Gardena. He, however, didn’t get to fulfill his dream completely. Despite that, the Shiffrin heaped praises on the Norwegian skier in the latest update, honoring him with a huge title.

Mikaela Shiffrin hails Aleksander Kilde

Mikaela Shiffrin recently reached the 92nd World Cup victory mark at the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2023/24 in St. Moritz. However, she seems to be more happy now as her love Aleksander Kilde gets to taste podium success at Val Gardena, Italy. After he secured the 2nd spot in the Men’s Downhill race, the 2x Olympian gave Kilde an ultimate title.

She posted an Instagram story congratulating the Norwegian for his remarkable success in Italy. “Just out here doing King Things”, the winningest skier wrote. Kilde might not be a King in alpine skiing yet, but he surely is the King for the snowy slopes’ Queen. Although Shiffrin is quite happy about the 2nd place finish, she would be distressed as Kilde narrowly missed the top spot.

Aleksander Kilde has tasted a significant amount of success in the skiing world cups. As he looked to further bolster his record, the 30-year-old produced impeccable runs down the hills in Italy. However, he faced tough competition from his American counterpart Bennett Bryce, narrowly missing the top spot by 0.03 seconds.

Bryce finished with a timing of 1:23:80 while Kilde took the extra 0.03 seconds to finish in 2nd place. The Swiss skiing specialist Marco Odermatt was at his usual best, finishing third, 0.05 behind Kilde. Both Kilde and Shiffrin wouldn’t have expected this, surely expecting a top spot. However, they continue to dream, and dream big, together.
