Extreme sports are so enthralling and captivating that individuals often find themselves lost in the exhilarating moments of enjoyment. But the risks involved in these sports cannot be avoided; one has to always be aware and attentive while playing. One such sport that brings an enormous amount of danger, along with thrill and excitement, is Skiing. Even skilled athletes like Lindsey Vonn have suffered fatal injuries during their skiing careers.

Likewise, tragic news tragic news has surrounded the skiing community since an elderly man lost his life while skiing. Despite administering all necessary first-aid medications, he succumbed to the severe injuries he had suffered.

A heart wrenching accident

This fateful accident occurred on Friday at the Thredbo Ski Resort in Australia, when a 73-year-old man lost his life after colliding with a pole while skiing. He was given cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) by the fellow skiers, but before the medical emergency could arrive, the man was pronounced dead. As reported by Anyuakmedia.com, New South Wales Police have been informed about the incident, and they have taken the area under their control for further investigation.

The Police will prepare a report to determine the circumstances that led to his demise. The report will then be submitted to the Coroner for further analysis. This report will also help in determining if there were any factors involved that promoted the fateful accident. Thredbo Resort has mourned the loss of the elderly and expressed their condolences to the family and friends of the skier. However, this is not an isolated incident, as numerous other tragic skiing occurrences have been reported throughout the year.

Concerning Skiing incidents

A few days ago, a man from Colorado sustained major injuries when he fell off a mountain while he was skiing. He fell from a height of almost 2000 feet, and he was rescued after three hours of searching. He was then airlifted and sent to a nearby hospital. A similar incident was reported in March as well, where an 82-year-old man lost his life while skiing at Whistler Blackcomb. He was sent to the hospital but could not survive due to the traumatic injuries he suffered.
