Mikaela Shiffrin though still thriving in her career is set to leave behind an endearing legacy. A trailblazer in her sport, the alpine skiing queen is also known for her cross-industry friendships. Mikaela talked with TIME before entering the FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup and stated, “I want to ski fast, I want to still feel like I have the ability that I?m still improving.”?
After a few early upsets, the two-time Olympian added her seventh reindeer in the Santa Claus village. Interestingly, no skier other than her or Vlhova has won the season-opening slalom since 2016. In response to a star-studded performance update, Shiffrin now seems to be more excited about her favorite race.

Mikaela is the epitome of the girl next door and also happens to be the most decorated skier in history. Once again speaking effortlessly about her favorites, Shiffrin expressed her excitement for the performance at her favorite Stifel Killington Cup in Vermont, which was scheduled to take place during Thanksgiving weekend. One of the most anticipated highlights of the event is the possibility of sharing the stage with Noah Kahan, another artist featured in TIME 100.

Kahan announced his partnership with Emma Stone on Twitter, sharing a screenshot from a previous tweet from February 2021 alongside the announcement. Praising her dreamer friend, Shiffrin rushed to the X comments section and wrote, “So deserved!! Was only a matter of time!”
A Vermont singer-songwriter, Noah Kahan, has previously participated in the Killington Cup. TIME also wrote about Shiffrin and Kahan’s connection, saying, ?he?s done some projects with the U.S. Ski team, and he did a concert in Killington.? Notably, Mikaela helped elevate his popularity, earning him a position on the TIME 100 list.

At the next Killington event, one hundred women representing twenty-one countries are vying for the coveted podium place. Shiffrin revealed her enduring love for Killington, highlighting the exciting energy of the home races and the spectacular pre-race preparations.

Shiffrin also shared in the interview how Kahan was dressed in U.S. Ski team clothes when they first met assuming he was a member of the squad. They have kept in touch throughout time. She notes that the crowds from all over the East Coast are the biggest and most passionate on the World Cup circuit, and she looks forward to them with great anticipation.
