Alpine Skiing legend Mikaela Shiffrin has been walking into the foothills of greatness since the start of the Audi FIS Alpine Ski World Cup 2023/24. After breaking the record for most World Cup victories, 88, she has gone on to add another whopping 7 victories to her name, taking her tally to 95 World Cup victories. The latest came rightfully and ceremoniously at the Jasna Slalom but more than the victory, Shiffrin was flattened by the winner’s crown.

Although Shiffrin missed a few races at the ongoing Ski World Cup, she made sure to make up for her absence, winning her 94th and 95th World Cup race on the trot. As she stamps her alpine skiing queen status, Shiffrin was later honored with a gorgeous crown. Bequeathing such an honor was an epoch-defining moment for the 28-year-old phenom, who is impervious to snow, avalanches and defeat.

In the latest update on Twitter, Mikaela Shiffrin revealed a gorgeous crown she was honored with after her Jasna Slalom victory on 21st January. It marked Shiffrin’s 58th Alpine Skiing victory in slalom, her favorite. However, it was the trophy she was highly impressed with. This though…thank you, Jasna! It might be the most beautiful trophy I’ve ever received!!, she captioned her tweet. Nothing could rival the childlike joy she had riven on her face as she fawned all over the coveted and venerable trophy. Adornments wise, it would certainly bedazzle any of the other professional trophies she’s been bequeathed, hands down.

The 28-year-old delivered two of the fastest runs on the Jasna slopes and eventually won with a combined timing of 1:48:21. Following her was Croatian skier Zrinka Ljutic in 2nd and Swede skier Anna Swenn Larsson in 3rd. It also marked the Olympic Champion’s 7th victory of the season while also extending her lead at the top of the World Cup Standings. As she continues to amass accolades, Shiffrin is on the brink of breaking yet another record.

Shiffrin shatters yet another World Cup record

The Jasna victory marked Mikaela Shiffrin’s 58th victory and 82nd top-three result in her favorite slalom. She went past the Swedish skier Ingemar Stenmark, who held 81 top three slalom finishes. With still a few more races to go, the 28-year-old is on the cusp of vanquishing the slopes yet again with her deftness, verve, and decisive playmaking prowess.

Sunday’s victory also marked Shiffrin’s 150th podium finish across all disciplines. With it, the 3x Olympic Gold medalist is only 5 podium finishes behind to tie the record for most World Cup podium finishes. The record is held by Stenmark currently with 155 podium finishes. If everything is copasetic and if fortune favors her, Shiffrin will also tie the record of most World Cup titles. There’s no telling what she can do.
