The Audi FIS Alpine Skiing World Cup 2023/24 season has been nothing short of dramatic. Especially on account of unexpected wins, unforeseen injuries, and a record podium to boot. Mikaela Shiffrin’s 100 career win is on suspension since she has fallen into the maw of a safety-net-crashing injury in Cortina. Always considering speed disciplines as ‘scary’, the 28-year-old Olympian left the world concerned despite being stable. But there’s her beau finally back in Innsbruck after something nightmarish.

Aleksander Kilde, Shiffrin’s long-term partner, had faced a rather disconcerting injury at the Wengen Downhill event. He flung airborne into the safety net, therefore falling victim to a shoulder dislocation and a calf cut. It’s been weeks now and his girlfriend’s regular visits has upped his spirits. But things were not looking well when he just started his healing journey.
