One of the greatest Russian athletes and goal scorers of NHL history, Alexander Ovechkin is known for his extravagant lifestyle. The globally celebrated left winger, who is also known as The Great Eight after his jersey number had once invested a large sum of money in real estate. Back in the year 2014, the ice-hockey pro bought $4.2 million worth of property in McLean, Virginia.

Alexander is the captain of the Washington Capitals of the NHL and has also represented Russia in various competitions. In addition, he has also played for his national team at 2006, 2010, and 2014 Winter Olympic Games.

Alexander bought a mansion that was huge, secluded, and expensive

The Great Eight invested in real estate back in 2012 which was 11,000 sq ft in size. With over seven bathrooms and five bedrooms, the $4.275 million mansion was clearly built to impress. The house was located in Mclean, Virginia, in a secluded area on Woodside Drive.

A closer look at the house reveals a few noteworthy details. They include a gorgeous spiraling staircase, chandeliers in almost every room, and a basement the size of a mini hockey field.

The master bedroom has both a wet bar and a fireplace. The house includes a recreation room with hardwood flooring, a dining room with a view, and a kitchen that’s constructed to make an impression. And finally, even a backyard swing.

Alex Ovechkin is a star with earnings in the millions

The Owl who first started his career with the Dynamo Moscow of the Russian Superleague, later moved to the NHL after four seasons. Born in Moscow, Russia, he grew up to become the captain of the Washington Capitals. And also, arguably one of the best hockey players in the history of the sport.

He has an estimated net worth of $85 million as of July 2022. Most of his salary is obtained from endorsement deals that he has acquired in his career spanning 21 years. He is considered to be one of the greatest competitors to G.O.A.T Wayne Gretzky.
