When the GOAT of gymnastics, Simone Biles, backed out of the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, she made headlines for obvious reasons. Biles chose to put her health and well-being ahead of trying to recreate her Olympic success in Rio, citing mental health issues as the reason. Biles’ decision was unwavering despite the strong public outcry against her action.
However, a random tweet from Simone made the public on Twitter wacky, while some recalled her withdrawal from the Olympics. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, Biles succumbed to the pressure and withdrew from some competitions due to mental health issues, which must have been challenging. However, being in the spotlight and having the public watch your every action is even more challenging.

Fans lashed out at Simone Biles
Recently, the four-time gold medalist Simone made an out-of-the-blue tweet on Twitter. The tweet reads, “Some of y’all were never taught common courtesy, and it shows.” Later, as the people on Twitter saw the tweet, they started retweeting it. While some comments were positive, on the other hand, some were negative.
After reading the tweet, one user shared his point of view and said, “And some of us were taught to stand for what is true and right. Sometimes folks take that as being “discourteous” and it shows.” Still, a user’s comment about her withdrawal caught everyone’s attention. “I was taught not to quit on my team. What are your thoughts on that?” the user wrote. Another wrote, “like the common courtesy of not quitting on your teammates who were relying on you.”
