In 2007, her family decided to move to Northampton, Massachusetts. She has a family of four including her twin brother, Andrew. Her parents are Jennifer Randall and Desmond Thomas. This transition did not just mark a new beginning but kickstarted a crucial new chapter in Thomas’s life.
Thomas has today, come a long way from laps at Northampton. Today, Thomas has set up her training base in Austin, Texas. She is not just an athlete but someone who dabbles in something else equally challenging. Thomas is a graduate student at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston’s Austin regional campus pursuing a Master’s in epidemiology. And no doubt, she balances the two in style!

Gabby Thomas impresses on paper and on track! Her move in 2007, caused her to join Williston Northampton School in Massachusetts. And it is safe to say her journey here was nothing short of spectacular. Not only did she set multiple school records, but she also earned MVP honours every single year. Her talents did not go unrecognized here. She was soon on the Harvard University list, where she pursued a double major in neurobiology and global health. At Harvard, she created a tidal surge. She won 22 conference titles and set multiple Ivy League records.
