Surfing enthusiasts have always made a beeline for Huntington Beach, California. It is one of the premier surfing destinations along the Western coastline of the continental United States. The weather there is usually agreeable and ideally suited for using a surfboard. One must wait to see if that is indeed the case on Monday, November 20.

According to Surf Captain, after seeing some choppy waters late Sunday afternoon, the weather is expected to calm down significantly. The forecast is favorable for surfers and surfing fans. Water conditions are expected to be clean to fair. From sunup to sundown, the waves are reportedly not going to cross the four-foot mark. The maximum expected wind speed for that duration is 15 miles per hour.

For the rest of the week, the conditions will not stay the same. Starting Wednesday afternoon, the waters are predicted to get a little choppy. That is also the expected general condition of the waves for Thanksgiving Day, November 23, and Friday, too. The water temperature will hold steady around 63 degrees Fahrenheit for the most part.

High tide is at 4.16 am and again at 2.36 pm on Monday, November 20. The waves will be as tall as 4.4 ft then. The temperature is not expected to go past 75 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the day. Also, the longest swells can be seen only around 6 pm, lasting 12 seconds.

The weather forecast for the previous week was generally favorable, as well. There was a little choppiness to the water interspersed throughout the week. Aside from that, the swells were longer then, some of them lasting up to 17 seconds.

Towards the end of the week, the water will become more choppy. Though the waves are not as high as some may prefer, Huntington Beach, California offers a safe surfing experience on Monday through most of Wednesday this week. After that, at least for beginners in the sport, the waves might prove to be too much to handle. For those more seasoned, that might be less of a problem. The advisable timeframe for hitting the waves this week is any time on Monday, Tuesday, and until 4 pm on Wednesday.
