Barbados Restaurant Owner Gets a Heartfelt Moment With Son as Two Surfing Icons Land Up at His Joint

In life, one encounters a lot of people, but only a select few stick in our memories. There are some we can cry with, laugh with, and have complete faith in. We find it easier to navigate life’s challenges when we have friends. The constant realization of having a shoulder to cry on is what makes old friendship special. Kelly Slater must be going through the same emotions. 

A famous restaurant in Barbados has shared a picture that is grabbing fans’ attention. 

Kelly Slater met his old friend Alan Burke in Barbados

Soup Bowl, a town in Barbados, is the home to some of the best surf spots in the world. Apart from being a hotspot for surfing, it is a great place to relax away from busy city living. The beautiful town recently became the reason for Kelly Slater’s nostalgia. The owner of the famous restaurant posted a selfie of his son with two surfing icons, Kelly Slater and his childhood friend Alan Burke. 

The owner of the restaurant was happy to host the legends. He wrote, “this week’s astounding Soup bowl swell brought in a lot of old friends and familiar faces.”  He was grateful for the big smile on his son’s face. The sporting spirit of both superstars overwhelmed the owner. “Thank you both for your magnanimous spirits” he added.

Kelly Slater admitted to having a great time reliving the old days. He also mentioned enjoying the company of the little kid. “Been a fun week meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones in Barbados.” he wrote.

Barbados has produced many world-class surfers over the years Alan Burke hails from Soup Bowl, Barbados. Alan Burke knows every single sweet surfing spot of his home island’s waters. He is a former national and international surfing champion. The 48-year-old surfer runs Burkie’s Surf School and has taught the secrets of Barbados’ surf since 1993.

Kelly Slater and Alan Burke seem to share great comradery. Being one of the best surfers, both veterans share a good understanding of the sport. However, their friendship is not limited to the waves and boards. There have been various instances when fans have seen the two surfers enjoying each other’s company. Luckily, they will have one more moment to cherish.
