The LSU Tigers have seen favorable progress 3 weeks into the persisting gymnastics season. With a star-studded roster of Olympic hopefuls, new talent, and more, the team started off the season strong with a victory against Ohio State. Through the meets that followed next, the Tigers presented camaraderie alongside excelling skills, and the LSU fame, Olivia Dunne has shied away.

As of Feb 1st, the LSU Tigers stand 3rd on the table, flaunting an impressive 198.125. Though the previous meet came as a disappointment against Missouri, adding 2nd loss to their 6 meets, the gymnastics stars are more than ready to gain back the momentum. The excitement stood evident as Olivia Dunne joined the tigers in hyping Sophomore Ashley Cowan.

How is LSU looking going forward?

Against the Kentucky Wildcats past week, the LSU Tigers posted a total of 198.125, which was recorded as the nation’s high until Oklahoma beat them to 198.325. “We needed that,” head coach Jay Clark said as Haleigh Bryant and Kiya Johnson recorded perfect 10s and season-high scores across 3 events each. The team further aimed to keep up against Missouri. However, with 197.325-197.225, the Missouri Tigers delivered an upset. “If we’re going to be the team we say we are, we can’t sleepwalk through a meet like that… It’s going to get better, I promise,” Coach Clark said, according to Nola.
