The LSU Gymnastics team remains unbeatable throughout the ongoing NCAA season. After garnering the standout win against No. 9 Alabama on March 1, the Tigers shone brightly in the impressive clash. The no. 2 LSU Gymnastics team managed to gain the attention of its fans, earning the program’s third-highest score 198.325 in the last Friday meet.
The LSU Gymnastics team continues to captivate the audience with their splendid performance, receiving massive support from the fans. An unexpected crowd gathered at Pete Maravich Assembly Center consecutively in the program history, with over 12 thousand enthusiasts in attendance to cheer their favorite gymnastics team. The shiny blue leotard did not forget to mark the occasion.
LSU Gymnastics fans post a record amid difficulties

Taking to its official X handle, the LSU Gymnastics team celebrated the massive fan support during the clash against No. 9 Alabama at PMAC in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. They captioned the post as “Tiger Nation is unmatched. 12,580 fans showed out on Friday night to record back-to-back sellouts in the PMAC! #GeauxTigers | #GetThere” However, the match was not without setbacks. Coach Jay Clark was disappointed over the late crowd attendance.

It happened because of early match time and the suspension of ticket sales. After seeing the empty seats, he stated after the match, “I was concerned. I don’t understand why we had to have a 5 o’clock start…I know they wanted to put the best, what they felt the best match-up was on ESPN2 versus the SEC Network and that’s great except that if you do it at 5 o’clock and people can’t get here.”
Clark further added, “We want our crowd in here. We want them to be able to utilize the tickets that they buy…” Interestingly, as the match progressed, things changed. Eventually, the crowd came in to build the excitement in due course of time. Indeed, it had its part to play in the team’s 8th ranked victory of the year. Not only this time, the LSU fanbase has showed its colors a few months back as well.

Fans brought a first for the gymnastics program
The latest sell-out is the second instance in recent times. Ahead of the 2024 season, the LSU Gymnastics team achieved a new milestone by selling out over 8,000 season tickets in November last year. That was the first time in the history of the program that a sell-out happened. It only speaks volumes about Tiger Nation’s unwavering support for their team. Coach Jay Clark could not have missed that.

“Our fan base continues to show why this is the best place in the country to be a collegiate athlete. Our team is doing well and our fans see that, and I think it’s a testament to the momentum that we have going right now. We are so grateful to our fan base for their loyalty and for the enthusiasm in which they come out. The PMAC is truly a unique environment unlike anything else in college gymnastics.” Clark had told on that occasion. With this support base in place, LSU is looking ahead to the matchup on Friday, March 8th against Auburn, George Washington, and Texas Women’s.
