Haleigh Bryant has been a particularly prominent name for LSU gymnastics in the persisting NCAA season. The 2023 champion on Vault has led her roster every meet to claim a consistent top spot in the individual rankings. In the process, Bryant has claimed multiple perfect 10s, season-bests, SEC honors, and numerous more. The latter of the lot has today brought along a feat for the 22-year-old.
Last week, Haleigh Bryant attained a career 14th perfect 10, eventually leading LSU gymnastics to a firm stand for the postseason. Having established that, the gymnast today stands to adorn a title for individual brilliance, maintaining her ascent.

Thanks to her talent execution throughout the season, Haleigh Bryant currently holds the leading collegiate gymnast title in the nation. Owing to her position, the LSU Gymnastics standout was named the SEC Gymnast of the Week on Tuesday. The honor would mark the gymnast’s 5th one for the season and a 10th in her almost 4-year career. “Instagram may have been down but @_haleighbryant is still up,” LSU Gym wrote proudly and elated over the news. Among the proud spectators was Olivia Dunne, who joined in to drop, “Kid never misses.”

In the meet last week against Alabama, Haleigh put up a total all-around of 39.850 which marked her season-best. Her further 9.900 or higher claimed her the event titles, bringing the total to 78. That would mean the 6th position for Bryant in the LSU gymnastics program history. With an NQS score of 39.755, the gymnast leads the individual ranking, followed by Oklahoma’s Jordan Bowers.

“It’s a reassuring place for all of us when we know that we have that kind of quality at the back and running… I never get tired of watching her. It’s remarkable,” Coach Jay Clark had said following the Alabama clash. Holding onto that and more, LSU Gymnastics will look to claim back their position heading into week 10.
Fierce battle for LSU Gymnastics ahead
Heading into week 9, LSU gymnastics were positioned second and were in contention to claim a share of the SEC championship. However, Florida’s win over Kentucky left the Tigers 5-2, and the Florida Gators with 6-1. California’s meet further pushed LSU down to third with an NQS of 197.885. Despite LSU’s ninth straight week in the top 5 tagged by impressive numbers, the team will have to battle it out well down the path, for NQS is what determines the season ahead.

The Tigers currently own an NQS of 49.445 (2) on vault, 49.475 (4) on bars, 49.440 (5) on beam and 49.665 (1) on floor reports LSU gymnastics. In the podium challenge against Auburn, George Washington, Texas Woman next week, the roster will look to maintain or improve.
