Over the past few days, the 16-year-old, Zhang Yihan’s performance on uneven bars has taken social media by storm. In a clip shared by Arthur Nory on Instagram stories, Yihan can be seen performing a clear hip layout tkatchev skill flawlessly. According to reports, the skill doesn’t yet exist in the code of points. However, Zhang Yihan’s careful execution at Cottbus this week could mean a win for Henan’s first-year senior.

The last of the clear hip layout tkatchev family was named for Shang Chunsong (CHN) which was performed at the 2013 World Championship. Since then, many have taken on the challenge but most recently the light was on Dutch gymnast, Sanne Wevers. However, despite the many speculations, the gymnastics star never performed the Hip Clear Nabieva combo at the FIG competitions. Thus, passing on a chance to 16-year-old, Zhang Yihan. The youngster’s precision today has brought about an exciting atmosphere amongst the fans, building up anticipation for Cottbus.
