At the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championship, after a rather nail-biting display in the qualifying round, the men are back. On October 3, the men’s team finals already hit the gymnastic floor with Team USA, making it big. As the Belgium audience girded up their loins to witness some hit shows, a top-tier gymnast of the US team turned heads this time. Despite a minor setback at the qualifying round, the 2023 Winter Cup Challenge gold medalist stood out in the pommel horse event.

Once having delivered a clean 14.366 on the pommel horse, his not-so-clean landing left him worried on Sunday. But, the Seoul-born American gymnast left the American fans overjoyed this time.

A user recently took to his ‘X’ account to celebrate Yul Moldauer’s phenomenal maneuver on the pommel horse. He proudly wrote, “Yul Moldauer fell in the Qualifiers and almost fell today. His grade was discarded on the first day. He scored 13.533, higher than their third score on day 1.” His statement asserted the 27-year-old’s unwavering determination as a gymnast who only bounces back stronger than before.

For a gymnast of such gravity, a fall on his signature and some pessimistic comments from the fans would have affected him. But Moldauer pulled off his resilient self to land such a remarkable score on the routine. Undoubtedly, this was one of his best saves on the pommel, according to sources.

Yul’s Gymnastics dreams looked far for a moment

Yul’s move in the PH routine was posted on Gymnastics Now’s ‘X’ handle. As Moldauer’s Olympic dreams moved farther away, as his unanticipated blow at the pommel routine left the fans worried. The pommel horse performer, four gold medals winner at the Pan American Championships in 2022, experienced a minor setback with one of his characteristic feats. Very unlikely for the 27-year-old to register such a error. Gymnastics Now wrote, Gymnastics Now captioned the post as, ?Yul Moldauer (USA) PH: Might?ve put his hand on the horse while doing his mount on the pommels? If he did, it was quick. Swing into his mount is stilted and almost doesn?t get around and up to the handstand. It was muscled, for sure. 12.666.??
