Being the most decorated gymnast of all time, Simone Biles has received great admiration from aspiring youngsters from around the world. The 7-time Olympic medalist, aware of her platform, has stepped ahead to reciprocate the love in her own way: the Invitational. Opening up a stage for the young gymnasts to learn, grow, and enjoy, Biles seems to have found joy in her initiative. More so as she let loose amidst the nearing worries of Olympic trials.
Back in 2018, the gymnast marked the beginning of the Simone Biles Invitational, a platform offered for young gymnasts across the world. Today, as the 2024 edition takes precedence with its contests and festivities, the 2-time Olympian has chimed in to take in its merriment.
Simone Biles matches strides with best friends

Feb 2nd welcomed the second day of the 2024 Simone Biles Invitational for a fun ‘glow in the dark’ party. Rachel Roettger, Simone Biles’ best friend and gymnast joining along, arrived with updates, writing, “Come visit us at athlete check-in.” One of her first Instagram stories showcased the presence of Adria Biles, followed by a glimpse of the ‘glow party’ in precedence. “Litty lit w/s!!!!” Rachel wrote on her story with Simone Biles in the background.
With Ciara’s One Two Step blasting the speakers, Simone Biles sported an all-black outfit topped with a fluorescent pink jacket to match the theme. Further along, in a black fit and white puffer jacket, arrived Jordan Chiles dancing to ‘Turn Down For What.’ The gymnastics icon, alongside her team, organized the party as a fun part of the Invitational. Kids from ages 3-12, having registered were welcomed at the George R Brown Convention Center. While the event was definitely a highlight, it however isn’t all Biles is offering.

More in store for the young gymnasts
Simone Biles started the invitational in 2018, welcoming about 3500 athletes. Back in 2009, the gymnast had herself attended an invitational organized by Mary Lou Retton, where she bagged a gold. Drawing a possible nostalgia, Biles today runs a three-day event inclusive of parties and autograph signing. Moreover, starting in 2020, the event has served as a qualifying meet for the Nastia Liukin Cup. While competitions frame the event description better, Simone’s autograph sessions alongside gymnasts at the World Champions Centre also act as a driving force.

“…inspire the next generation of gymnasts and encourage them to pursue their own goals and dreams,” Simone Biles had said previously. Following up, through partnerships or through Invitational, the gymnastics queen works to inspire, to sustain, and to help grow.
