The international gymnastics team is all girded up to compete at the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Alongside the 4X Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, the other gymnasts look as promising as ever. Skye Blakely, Joscelyn Roberson, Leanne Wong and Shilese Jones have proved their gymnastic prowess with their stellar performances. On the other hand, Algeria?s Kaylia Nemour, China?s Qui Qiyuan, and Brazil?s Rebeca Rodrigues de Andrade are prepared for their ground-breaking displays. However, these athletes are not the only solid ones to look out for at the World Championships next month.

Australian gymnast Georgia Godwin had outshined every competition at the Paris World Challenge Cup. The series acted as the gateway of the World Championships. Besides clinching accolades and victories throughout her inspirational career, Godwin’s road to glory wasn’t smooth. Ahead of the big game starting on September 30, the 25-year-old looks strong as ever.

Godwin embraced gymnastics wholeheartedly

The gymnastic governing body, the International Gymnastics Federation, took to their Instagram handle to post a special game update. In addition, they congratulated Godwin for her phenomenal wins, advertising her recent victories. The 1-minute video offered a snippet of Godwin’s finesse on the mat.

Figymanstics captioned the post as, “With World Challenge Cup series titles on Vault, Balance Beam, and Floor Exercise to her credit, Georgia Godwin ?? was the big winner as the 2023 FIG events series drew to a close this past weekend in the Olympic arena in Paris.” Furthermore, the video featured the Australian in a bedazzled leotard, gracing the vault, balance and floor exercise.

From becoming a five-time World Cup Challenge gold medalist to being crowned the 2022 all-round Common Wealth Games champion. Undoubtedly, she has made a mark in the gymnastic history record-breaking sixth senior Australian all-around title. Despite facing prickled roads of several injuries, setbacks and non-selections, she never stopped pushing through. Ahead of the World Championships, the 25-year-old penned a bold message.

Georgia feels ‘alive and proud’

Breaking all pre-conceived notions, the Olympian proved that anybody of any age can achieve success in artistic gymnastics. It’s not just a young people’s game. In an interview with Gymnastics Now, Godwin hilariously stated, ?There are a few factors behind me continuing this sport at the ripe ol? age of 25.??Furthermore, she backed her ‘joke’ with a bold statement. She added, ?I?m still improving and enjoying what I?m doing, so why stop now?? Motivating every athlete to enjoy the sport to the drain out, she aligned her own perspective. “For a long time, the focus was purely on results, which kind of took away the enjoyment and the reason behind why I do this sport. I do it because I love it. It makes me feel alive and proud,? she added.?

Even though the Australian team struggled to clock record time in the gymnastic history, this time is different. The stunning five-member roster of the 2023 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships includes Kate McDonald, Ruby Pass, Breanna Scott, Miella Brown and Georgia Godwin.
