The 2023 Pan-American Games has been one of the history-making events for the US gymnastics legends, especially Kayla Dicello. Earlier this year, she officially announced her year gap from the University of Florida. After returning to the elite gymnastic mat six months ago, the 19-year-old set her sight on the Olympic finish. Keeping her goal in mind, Dicello earned the all-around gold at the 2023 Pan Am Games.

However, keeping aside her gymnastic prowess for a while, the 2021 World bronze medalist focussed on quality time. On October 31, 2023, America celebrated Halloween, and the children engaged in trick or treating. Dicello’s fanbase has slowly developed since her performance at the 2023 US Xfinity Championships. In line with that, her recent fan love took her heart away.

People dressing up as their favorite gymnasts have taken the world by storm this year. From Olivia Dunne to Dicello, the gymnastics greats adored fans in special Halloween posts. Today, the 20-year-old spotted a young girl in her gymnastics arena, who was dressed up like her.

Lauren Haney, a budding gymnast, shared a story with the caption, “When you decide to go to practice after trick or treating, and you run into who you’re dressed up as.” As adorable as the post is, the picture with Dicello kneeling down to match the child’s height grabbed more eyes.

In response, the 20-year-old Pan Am champs wrote, “This0 was so cute” with a teary-eyed emoji. Her caption clearly asserted that she had achieved a brighter gold than her all-around medal. Having said that, Dicello’s recent gold clinch still lingers in the fans’ minds.

Though the Paris quotas have not been confirmed yet, Dicello’s win excited her way beyond words. She said, “This is my first gold medal as an all-around champion, so I’m just really happy.” Clocking a remarkable 54.699, the 20-year-old left Brazil’s Flava Saraiva in silver with ?54.565, followed by Jordan Chiles with 53.999. Though Chiles topped the first rotation with 14.300, Dicello’s 14.133 looked a little away from the win.

As the gymnasts changed the apparatus, the game became more unexpected. While the 2019 Junior World vault champion aced the uneven bars, Saraiva left her behind in a balance beam. But the tables turned as Saraiva’s shaky floor earned her a 12.900, and Dicello elevated with 13.733. Since 2011, this is the first time the US women took home a Pan-Am gold.
