The swimming legend Michael Phelps has a soft corner for speed, who especially looks for kicks in car racing. The 28 gold medalist across all events has recently appeared at the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix. As Red Bull Racing prodigy Max Verstappen stood atop with the season win, the 38-year-old former swimmer poured out his love for another team.
According to the news, Phelps once posed with Carlos Sainz, a crucial member of the Scuderia Ferrari. At the recent event, rooting for the red team, the wins or losses of his favorite team didn’t matter to the Olympian. It was just the sheer thrill element that took the limelight.

Resorting to his Instagram handle, Phelps wrote, “What a weekend! First @f1 race in the books, can?t wait for the next one! Thanks to @scuderiaferrari and #switch.” Posing alongside pregnant wife Nicole, his pictures looked nothing short of a dream. With his mouth wide open, which asserted screaming in joy, the 38-year-old went back to being a child.

Akin to fans asking for selfies, the former swimmer rushed to pose with the team as well as the individual racers. Some time back, the Olympic gold medalist took to his Instagram to declare his love for poker as well. Partaking in a newfound journey, Phelps played for Global Poker at the Austin Pit Stop.
Interestingly, Global Poker sponsors Ferrari, and he tactically promoted both at one go. Talking about Ferrari, he once shed light on the importance of intense training and how mindful athletes should be. He had interesting opinions on training methodologies as well.

Phelps’ take on training methods
During a conversation with Justin Thomas, the PGA Tour legend, the swimmer talked about keeping his training in check. For someone whose physique is almost worshipped globally, staying ahead of his game is important. On that, he said, “If our body is a Ferrari, we are asking it to perform at the highest speed every single day. If you are putting unleaded in there, is that gonna run?”

He further added, “No …So if our body is that unbelievable machine, then we have to sleep, we have to recover, we have to do all of these things to allow ourselves the chance and opportunity to perform at the highest level.” He also talked about the side effects of heading straight to sleep after a tough day. Meals are important as well for proper rejuvenation of bodily organs. As he goes on to explore several sport avenues, the star Olympian has set an example for the younger generation.
