As one of three equestrian Olympic disciplines, dressage has recently made several headlines. It’s the Olympic year again, and the main event is just six months away. And the U.S. competitive dressage team is girding up like no other. Since the discipline is a matter of creativity, individual expressions, and musical freestyle, it needs more precision than the others. On the same note, the riders’ road to Paris may get smoother soon.

As the athletes are fervently eyeing the trophy, it’s time for the USEF to notch up the game for them. Perfecting maneuvers has become essential for the athletes ahead of the big game. So, to bring some changes to the coaching structure, U.S. Dressage has some alterations and modifications for the betterment of everybody.

According to USEF, the U.S. Dressage coaching structure has been upgraded within the program pathways, and all the credits go to a project that the U.S. Equestrian has been molding for months. The initiative leverages feedback from important stakeholders and athlete participation throughout the process. Interestingly, the initiative would also allow the dressage team to get access to program-affiliated resources and provide a chance to engage with high-end coaches. At their 2023 Pan-Am Games gold finish, the U.S. team had secured a seat at the big game. Now, the depth in the coaching support is all they need ahead of “summer’s Olympic games.”

Christine Traurig, a coach for nearly a decade, got promoted to Development Coach. The current DC, Charlotte Bredahl, will stand down from the position in April. Taurig, also Chef d’Equipe for the Paris 2024 Olympics U.S. Dressage Team, will coordinate with Laura Roberts to bring out the best competitive athletes. But there’s more to the news and the personal takes of the key people.
