According to the Thoroughbred Daily News, following the tragic incident, the team lead, Pat McKenna, mentioned that “The NYRA places the health and safety of horses and jockeys above all other considerations. Before racing, each horse undergoes a thorough veterinary examination, including a review of medical records and performance.”

McKenna continued, “Cold Hard Cash passed the inspection. In the investigation of the injury, necropsy results will be analyzed by HISA (Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority) officials and the NY State Equine Medical Director. NYRA, HISA, and the NY State Gaming Commission will review the incident to ensure a safe environment for racing at Belmont Park.” Th setatement has made waves in the community, capturing attention and sparking discussions.
