Lance Armstrong will always be counted as one who won the Tour de France a record seven times. However, Lance is also a smart investor, and his investment with Uber is considered a jackpot for him. The investment helped him financially after he got banned and all of his achievements were taken away. Lance also shares great coordination with ace investor Chris Sacca, who helped him invest in Uber.
Recently, Lance Armstrong appeared in an interview on Joe Pompliano’s YouTube channel, where he talked about several things, including his investment part.

Armstrong’s first meeting with Chris Sacca
Lace Armstrong was discussing the financial difficulties he faced after the infamous incident. Joe took the conversation further to Uber and asked him about his early impression of Chris Sacca. Armstrong revealed that his first meeting with Sacca happened in a bar. He added that there was no such plan and they randomly came across each other.
The first impression of Sacca didn’t appeal much to Lance Armstrong. The over-enthusiasm of Chris was a little too much for Lance. Lance said, “He is a great guy but he is very animated and talks a million miles per hour.” Both of them had a small conversation, where both exchanged contact numbers. Although, Lance had very fewer hopes that they both will stay in touch.
Lance informed that he later invested in one of Sacca’s initial funds. Lance always believed in the entrepreneurial skills of Sacca. He believed, “Sacca is smart and connected and was going to be a good investor”. Lance further added that he knew that Twitter was a target investment goal for Chris Sacca. However, the cycling legend had no idea about Sacca’s huge investment in Uber. “I knew Twitter was part of the equation but I had no idea that he had such a huge stake in Uber”, Lance informed.
A deal that saved Lance Armstrong

In 2009, Armstrong had invested around 100k dollars in Chris Sacca’s fund. Later, Uber’s valuation came out and increased the performance of Sacca’s fund by nearly 250 times. This meant that the 100,000 dollars invested by Armstrong will escalate to 20 million dollars.

Armstrong has always been vocal about how the Uber investment saved his family. Although he didn’t know that Sacca’s situation with Uber, fate turned out to be in his fortune. The current value of Uber is $56.84 billion. It has become one of the most profitable startups in the entire world. Lance, additionally, has a net worth of $50 million due to his investments in other successful businesses.
