The all-time great Alpine Skier from America, Lindsey Vonn, shared her heartfelt emotions through her Instagram stories, as Tennis legend Serena Williams lost to Ajla Tomljanovic in the third round of the US Open 2022. It probably will be the last Grand Slam match of her extraordinary career. In a very tight match, Tomljanovic won by 7-5, 6(4)-7(7), 6-1, and got through to the Round of 16.

Serena Williams has had an outstanding career with 23 Grand Slams to her name. Yesterday, Serena lost to the Australian while she was eying for her 24th Grand Slam title. Serena might have lost the match, but she has been winning millions of fans throughout her decades-long career. 

Lindsey Vonn shared her heartfelt reaction

Serena during her last match, said, “Thank You so much you guys, you guys were amazing today, I tried, but I’d have played a little bit better”

Lindsey Vonn, another legend from another sport, showed her heartiest feelings through her Instagram stories. After the match, when Serena was giving an in-court interview, Vonn posted on her Insta stories about the legend. Vonn wrote, “Congrats on an amazing career G.O.A.T.!!!”

Lindsey Vonn is one of the greatest in Alpine Skiing. She retired on February 10, 2019, after a remarkable career. She has a record of an unmatched 82 World Cup victories including several others such as 18 victories on the same course (Lake Louise), 20 crystal globes, and 43 downhill victories.

Meanwhile, Vonn has spread her career to many fields including author, entrepreneurship, investor, and founder, she has always been a Serena fan and gets a lot of inspiration from her. Vonn also wrote, “The greatest of all time. Period.”

Serena Williams got emotional while thanking her parents

During the in-court interview, Serena got emotional while conveying her gratitude towards the audience, her fans, and her parents who stood by her all through these 25 years long career.

Serena said, “I just thank everyone that’s here, that has been on my side, so many years, decades; literally decades, but it all started with my parents and they deserve everything.”
