If anything, Stephen Nedoroscik isn’t one to let his physical setback define his life. Despite being born with strabismus, a rare eye condition, the pommel horse specialist made history in Paris earlier this year to help Team USA win its first medal in men’s gymnastics after a 16-year drought. Right after that, Nedoroscik set the dance floor on fire with Rylee Arnold at the 33rd season of Dancing With The Stars. Naturally, the Penn State alum would look like a champion for everyone who struggles to overcome their physical adversities.

However, examples of athletes rising above serious challenges are aplenty in all sports, and Joey Logano added further to the list. The 34-year-old NASCAR sensation just picked up his third championship title in Phoenix, Arizona, and how he did it is making the world compare his impressive feat with Nedoroscik’s recent triumphs.

The NBC Olympics & Paralympics social media celebrated Logano’s 2024 NASCAR Cup Series Championship feat with a post on X. Captioned, “NASCAR driver Joey Logano and pommel horse hero Stephen Nedoroscik have had a spectacular year,” the social media update from November 11 highlights how the two stars from two very different sports had something in common during celebrating their seminal career moments.

The accompanying video clip elaborates that the motorsport celebrity was wearing glasses while he won the NASCAR title and noted how that was almost similar to Nedoroscik’s stint in the City of Love in August when he took off his glasses to anchor Team USA’s performance and win the Olympic bronze. The video also shows the jubilation that Logano experiences when he wins his historic third Cup Series Championship title, and the racing car driver can barely hold back his emphatic scream of glee.

Subsequently, the video on X goes on to show how the male members of the USA’s gymnastics contingent at the Paris Games lifted Stephen Nedoroscik above them as they won the Olympic hardware in the sport for the first time since 2008. The 25-year-old gymnast is also seen sporting a broad smile on his face as he is thrust into the air by Yul Moldauer and others as they celebrate the moment together. But Stephen’s momentum didn’t end in the European capital and he went on to show that he’s just as energetic and graceful in other areas.

Soon after the Olympics, the American gymnasts once again hit the road. Led by the 7x Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles, stars like Jordan Chiles, Brody Malone, Joscelyn Roberson, and others began touring the entire length and breadth of the country for the second edition of the Gold Over America Tour. However, Stephen Nedoroscik opted to sit out on the pop-styled show to instead enlist himself for the 33rd season of DWTS.

Joining hands with professional dancer Rylee Arnold, the Superman aka Clark Kent lookalike has been showing off his dancing skills for the last couple of months, and fans can’t get enough of his groovy skills. While Biles noted that bringing on the male gymnasts was a decision to bring more exposure to men’s gymnastics, Stephen has been amplifying the same message from a different platform.

Arnold also lauded her dancing partner for his enthusiasm to explore the new domain and commented on how his decision to take up dancing is helping male gymnasts in general. “It is so amazing that Stephen is representing the male gymnasts…male gymnasts are very overlooked,Arnold told Joe Vulpis during a recent interview. Nedoroscik has also revealed that his journey on the pommel horse and the dance floor is also a source of inspiration to budding stars who look up to him as an example of how one can take control of their own life and not let their physical setbacks dictate their life’s trajectory.

A couple of mothers have reached out about their sons. One of them had strabismus, which is when your eyes are crossed, and you know they thought like, he couldn’t do sports. And he thought he couldn’t do sports. But sure enough, like after seeing me at the Olympics and seeing me on Dancing With the Stars you know, he started to tackle like football,he told Extra TV.
