Sha’Carri Richardson is right on track for the Paris Olympics. Competing at the preliminary heats of the US Olympics trials, Richardson took the pole position. She ran an impressive 10.88s to secure the first step towards her maiden Olympic qualification. Interestingly, during her run, Richardson faced dual trouble. Firstly, her right shoe got untied right at the start. This malfunction came back to haunt Richardson as she took a slight stumble while beginning the race. 

Taking to X, Travis Miller uploaded a snippet of Richardson’s victory while captioning the post, “Sha’Carri Richardson stumbles at the start AND STILL RUNS 10.88! #TrackFieldTrials24” While Richardson took the first position, the podium was completed by Tamari Davis and Tamara Clark. They ended with 11.01s and 11.05s respectively. Meanwhile, such a strong start to the Olympics mission will only bolster Richardson’s confidence.

The US track star would surely like to wipe off the unfortunate memory of getting banned despite qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics as she tested positive for marijuana. Sha’Carri Richardson’s 2024 session has so far looked quite bright. Richardson won the women’s 100m discipline with ease clocking 10.83s. Her next stop will be the US trials semis, where a top 2 finish will see her through to Paris. And looking at her bright Olympic prospects, the fans were quick to laud the US track and field queen.
