Not NHL or AHL, an insane fight makes its way to the Ontario Hockey League. Blurring the line between sportsmanship and violence, sports leagues frequently witness fights, mostly between players, but in rare cases like this, even coaches go head-to-head.
In a recently leaked video, the Erie Otters and Peterborough Petes head coaches got into a major fight after the second round of the game. The tense situation between Otters coach Kris Mallette and Petes bench boss Rob Wilson saw the entire field getting involved.
A social media post featuring the leaked video from NHL channel Spittin’ Chiclets gave fans insight into the incident: “WE ALMOST HAD A COACH FIGHT IN THE OHL 👀🍿”

Assistant coaches and referees intervened to diffuse the situation, followed by players stepping in. As a result, both coaches, Wilson and Mallette, were ejected from the game due to the altercation. Joining them were Messier and Grayden Strohack, who were also involved in the on-ice fight.
Despite the chaos, the Otters dominated the Petes with their performance, securing a 7-2 victory. However, the brawl has left NHL fans buzzing.

Witnessing such an altercation, one fan suggested that the coaches should have been allowed to fight it out: “Throw down,” he commented. A transparent barrier separating the two coaches prevented them from escalating the physical confrontation further, leaving them in a tense face-off.
Both coaches are part of Canadian-based teams in the OHL. The fight, which started between the players, later involved the coaches, prompting some fans to mockingly refer to it as a “Stupid Canadians” moment. The altercation saw a large crowd getting involved, with many trying to break it up.
