If you thought Brad Marchand was leaving Boston behind for good, think again. Because thanks to a collaboration with popular beer brand Samuel Adams, his legacy is now something you can pour into a glass. Bruins fans might still be adjusting to seeing their former captain don the red and white of Florida, but at least they can feel his heart, his soul, and now, his name, all still very much in Boston!

Marchand and Samuel Adams teamed up to launch a limited-edition beer called Marchand(y), and while fans might still be healing from the pain of his departure, this news kind of offers them a warm hug. And ever since the collaboration, the internet is pouring in reactions which are a mix of heartbreak, nostalgia, and—let’s be honest—excitement!

Samuel Adams launched this limited edition beer as a tribute to Brad Marchand’s 16 unforgettable seasons with the Bruins, a nod to the fiery spirit that made him a legend. Elaborating on the thought process behind the epic collaboration, head of brand Lauren Price said, “Brad Marchand truly embodies the heart of Boston sports—grittiness, skills, and always showing up when it counts His blend of elite performance, passion, and relentless drive to perfect his craft makes him a natural fit for Samuel Adams.”

The beer described as “a fun spin on the classic shandy style ale” and ” a perfect counterbalance to Brad’s spirited reputation on the ice” will be available exclusively at the Samuel Adams Downtown Boston Taproom and Boston Brewery from March 30.

And the day couldn’t come soon enough for fans. They love him, miss him, and still find ways to stick to his legacy, and now they are all set to raise a glass, and toast to the player who made them cheer, scream, and believe in Boston hockey. Marchand himself, in his own heartfelt words, said, “I will always be a Bostonian at heart, and I hope that fans will enjoy this beer to celebrate the 16 unforgettable years I spent wearing this jersey.” After all, being the captain of the Bruins’ has been the greatest honor in his life. So, Bruins fans, what’s it going to be—one last toast or sixteen more?

Have an interesting take?

Boston fans aren’t over Brad Marchand yet!

For fans, it was a mix of emotions brewing! One fan summed it up perfectly when they said, “The timing isn’t great but no one is going to turn down a Marchand Sam’s.” Probably trying to describe the energy. I mean, it’s certainly true that the pain hasn’t left yet, and the thought of seeing Marchand in Florida colors is still unsettling. But hey, when your beer has Marchand’s name on it, you simply raise a glass and celebrate—even if it comes with a bittersweet aftertaste!

This man did not think he was getting traded :(,” commented another heartbroken fan, perhaps still in denial of the role Marchand played in his own trade. Even though the Bruins management had agreed to give Marchand a three-year deal, he thought he was worth more in AAV than what was on the table. A hard pill to swallow, right? How about some Marchand(y) to wash it down?

But while the excitement for the beer was palpable, one fan had some feedback for the brand. “Is it just me or does the label not look much like Marchy? He looks yass-ified, not like the rat we know and love,” they wrote, unimpressed by how their ‘Little Ball of Hate’ has been represented on the can.

Then there are the collectors—the ones who treat anything Marchand-related like sacred relics. “I still have an unopened box of March Munch!” one fan proudly shared. Are they planning to pair the Marchand cereal with Marchand beer? We don’t know. Is it a good idea? Probably not. And at the end of the day, despite all the emotions, the conclusion was simple when one of them wrote, “Seems like poor timing, but I’d still buy some.” Because that’s Boston. The love, the loyalty, the legacy—it’s all in the can now! What are you waiting for? Go have yours!
