The Boston Bruins are having a great season. They just got their 50th win out of the 64 games that they have played in the 2023 season. This is an amazing achievement that has put them right up there with some of the greatest teams in the history of the NHL. They have also garnered a win rate of 0.781.

The Bruins achieved this amazing feat by defeating the Detroit Red Wings by a score of 3-2. Needless to say, the Bruins fans were overjoyed that their team had set a record. But as the excitement has reached sky-high, so have the expectations.

Fans celebrate as Bruins set a record in NHL history

When the Bruins shared the news on their official Facebook page, the fans couldn’t help but express their love for the team and their happiness at what had transpired. But even as the fans celebrated, they made it clear to the victorious Bruins that the journey was not yet over. The expectations of fans have now reached a point where they expect the team to win the cup. One fan commented, “Now let’s get that Stanley cup !!”

Many followers congratulated the team and called them one of the best teams out there.

They commented, “This has been a season filled with tremendous effort by all the players, staff and coaching. Many records broken and set, however “Lord Stanley’s Cup” is the quest, try not to settle into a passive mode, stay hungry, aggressive, positive, believe in each other and stay strong, bring it on home to Boston! Go Bruins!!” 

Boston Bruins become the fastest team to get to 50 wins

The Boston Bruins are now the fastest team to get to 50 wins in a season. To elaborate more on how monumental the accomplishment is, only 4 teams have got to the 50 wins point in under 83 games. Also, this is in the entire history of the NHL. In 1976-77, the Montreal Canadiens got 60 wins in 80 games. The Canadiens are followed by the Detroit Red Wings who got 62 wins in 82 games in the 1995-96 season. In 2019-20, the Tampa Bay Lightning got 62 wins in 82 games.

But what the Bruins have done is even more impressive because the competition in the league has only increased gradually from the previous seasons. And this season has been a season of fresh records left, right, and center. In addition to this, if the Bruins manage to win 12 out of the 18 games left in the season, they will tie to the current record for all-time NHL wins in a season. Irrespective of whether that happens or not, this accomplishment has already secured its name in the NHL history books.
