It’s a great day for all Bruins fans! David Krejci recently achieved a benchmark in NHL history, that catapulted him to the pedestal of a great player. There is no doubt about the fact that Krejci is going down in the annals of history after this achievement. When Krejci started playing professional hockey, the first team that he played with was the Boston Bruins. So needless to say, Bruins and Krejci have always been entwined together.

However, Krejci’s recent achievement has made the team, as well as his fans, more proud than they could ever be. And to honor Krejci for his tremendous feat, the Bruins felicitated him in a special ceremony. What was David Krejci’s amazing achievement, and how did his fans react to it?

David Krejci becomes the seventh Bruins to complete 1000 games

Krejci completed his 1000th game on January 16, 2023. To celebrate this astounding accomplishment, the Bruins honored Krejci in a special ceremony dedicated to the player. His achievement was celebrated with a pre-game ceremony at TD Garden on Monday. NHL shared the news on its official Facebook page, leading to elated fans taking to the comment section. One fan commented, “Incredible is right – not many can achieve 1,000 games!”

But not only did Krejci complete 1000 games, but he also did it while playing for the same team. One viewer recognized this fact saying, “From a Habs Fan, Congratulations. 1.000 games already is an achievement, but 1.000 games with the same team, 👏👏👏 Way to go, still enough left in the tank.” People also recalled some of his great achievements in the comments section. One follower wrote, “The quiet clutch Bruin all these years! Led the playoffs in scoring in 2011 and 2013 and continues to have some of the slickest mitts to ever wear the B to this day! Great touch to see the A back on his sweater for this day!”

Fans also labeled him as the G.O.A.T., saying, “One of the Greatest Bruins and one of the Greatest Hockey Players from the Original 6 !!!!!!!” Another fan was glad to see him back to his old team again, “As a Bruins fan so happy to have him back where he belongs. 👍🏒” While his fans commemorated his success with their heartfelt comments, the Boston Bruins threw a special ceremony for their star player and showered him with gifts.

The gift that keeps giving

During the pre-game ceremony, Krejci and his family were presented with scores of gifts. David Krejci received a customized Tiffany crystal from the NHL, along with the traditional silver and engraved stick, which is a sign of completing 1,000 games. Perhaps the best gift was the custom-made painting that was gifted to him by the Bruins as an enshrinement of his NHL career. In addition, the Bruins also gifted him an engraved bottle of wine.

Not only this, Krejci’s teammates gifted him with a special Rolex. Krejci was not the only one who received gifts. His wife also received a necklace with Krejci’s jersey number, 46, and the number 1000 as a token from the wives and girlfriends of all the Bruins players. Surely, it was a memorable night for Krejci, the Boston Bruins, and Bruins fans all around.
