The New York Rangers are yet to clinch their playoff spot this season. While the recent wins and the debut of fresh pick Gabe Perreault against the Minnesota Wild have brought plenty of excitement, the toughest challenges still lie ahead for the Rangers. To say that they have the biggest face-off coming up with the Florida Panthers, Tampa Bay Lightning, and The Carolina Hurricanes—all that they have lost to these opponents marks their four major matchups ahead.

In a recent meet-up with Mollie Walker and Brian Boyle, Larry Brooks, the senior columnist for the New York Post, opened up about the Rangers’ playoff scenario. “So it’s it’s it’s been a season long, narrative they they just commit egregious mistakes,” Brooks pointed out! Looks like Brooks isn’t sugarcoating anything but telling us straight facts! He brings up the issues that have been the problem since Game 1 and that the team’s pattern hasn’t changed yet. With 75% of the season gone now, will they be able to come out of the errors they have been making?

Not if Igor Shesterkin, the Rangers’ goalie, had anything to say about it. “Since game one, you know, we remember the opener. If it not for shisterkin, it could have been different right the first ten minutes of the game in Pittsburgh,” Brooks further stated. Remember that season opener in Pittsburgh? It was nothing short of a disaster. As the Rangers stumbled with sloppy mistakes. And the Penguins took full control within the first ten minutes.

The playoffs are approaching and the Rangers’ in their final stage. Now, one can only stop and wonder if they’ve really learned from their past blunders!

Maybe, with top prospects, the Rangers have got the shake-up they needed. With Perreault stepping in, it looks like there are fresh chances for the team to reignite their spark. Perhaps not exactly a dream scenario, but with new players joining in, who knows, they might just revive the energy? And once they start tightening up defensively, playoffs are still within reach. But wait, there’s more for this team—consider a cherry on top of the cake.

What’s the sweet part for the New York Rangers?

In the recent face-off between the Boston Bruins and the Montreal Canadiens, the latter stole a 4-1 victory. The Bruins certainly didn’t do the Rangers any favors—at least not intentionally. But if you look closely, their loss ended up working in the Rangers’ favor.

Yes, the bright red cherry on the cake! While Boston lost it, the Canadiens pushed themselves two points ahead of the Toronto Blueshirts. So the key for the Rangers is just to stay close. Then keep winning, and be ready to smash when the Canadiens stumble!

With 79 points from as many games, the Rangers just need a little help to derail Montreal’s wild card hopes. Whether another team takes them down or they buckle under pressure, the Canadiens’ 26 regulation wins hardly make them a dominant force.

And, if the Rangers, with all their tricks and learnings, take care of their job in the last seven games, boom—they are heading right where they should be!

As much as it is crucial for them to win every game, it’s as important to not make any mistakes. Perhaps keep a note of what Brooks said, “So they’ve got a lot of work to do here, you know, it’s not only, it’s not only that they have to have investment which you know, it’s a prerequisite for doing your job, right? But they have to be good. They have to clean up these mistakes.” Can the Rangers come out of their slump and grab the cherry? Let us know!
