Although Wayne Gretzky’s great contributions to the sport are collectively agreed upon, the player thought otherwise. Throughout his career, the hockey star has accomplished a lot and is proud of it even. In fact, he stressed, “I know what I did. Nobody can take that away from me”.

Something heartwarming about the interview was Gretzky’s reaction to new players. The veteran showed true sportsmanship when he expressed how he wanted new players to break his record. That would not only move the sport forward but will also set new benchmarks to achieve. This is why Gretzky is truly the great one.
