Matthew Tkachuk is back in the headlines again. Representing the Team USA at the much-awaited 4 Nations Face-Off, the elder Tkachuk brother scored two of the USA’s six goals against Finland. While his brother Brady Tkachuk scored two more, the elder brother also snuck in an assist, marking the 27-year-old’s biggest achievement since winning the Stanley Cup last year.

Amid all the on-ice success of the Tkachuk brothers, it’s easy to forget that the Florida Panthers forward achieved another milestone last year. However, the only difference was that it was a personal milestone for a player who likes to have his private life away from the cameras. And although the NHL player hasn’t tied the knot yet, he is well on his way to do so.

That’s because Matthew Tkachuk got engaged to Ellie Connell in April 2024. Don’t blame yourself if that name doesn’t ring a bell because the NHL player and his fiancée prefer to keep things private. While Connell has made public appearances with her husband-to-be in recent years, those have been few and far between.

The pair walked down the red carpet in the June 2023 NHL Awards ceremony. Connell was also there to cheer on her fiancé at the Stanley Cup final, barely two months after their engagement. She was later featured in a photo dump by Tkachuk on Instagram. “What an amazing way to cap off the best 4 weeks of my life! The Stanley Cup is a magical thing and celebrating it with family and friends is what it’s all about!” wrote Tkachuk.

However, Ellie Connell and Matthew Tkachuk have been dating at least since 2022. Connell was among the friends and family who joined the Tkachuks during Matthew and Brady Tkachuk’s parent‘s 50th birthday. “What a way to celebrate the best parents 50th birthdays!” the 27-year-old posted on July 2022.

So it may be safe to assume that the pair had been dating at least since or may even before 2022. While there’s no way to confirm when the NHL star started his very private relationship with Cornell, we do know some details about Tkachuk’s wife-to-be.

All we know about Matthew Tkachuk’s fiancée

While Ellie Connell doesn’t like revealing much about her dating or private affairs, she does have a social media presence thanks to work. As per the St. Louis, Missouri, native’s LinkedIn and business Instagram profile, she works as a Luxury Travel Advisor for Travel Untethered. Connell announced the news on her public Instagram profile.

“I am super excited to announce that I have joined the Travel Untethered Team… I could not be more excited for what is to come!” Matthew Connell’s fiancée posted in January 2024. However, this wasn’t the Southern Methodist University graduate’s first rodeo. In fact, Connell has quite a diverse work experience track record on LinkedIn.

Connell started her journey with an internship at Fox Sports and worked as an account executive at World Express before joining Travel Untethered in 2024. However, that’s about as much as we know about Tkachuk’s fiancée. And while the pair have been engaged for nearly a year, they haven’t announced when they plan to tie the knot.

Considering how Matthew Tkachuk will jump back into the NHL season after the 4 Nations, they may not make an announcement anytime soon. However, it may be safe to assume that Ellie Connell might be in the stadium if Team USA makes it to the final of the 4 Nations Face-Off.
