For expressing his unfeigned eulogy for the queen, the NHL king reminisced about his 20-year-old meeting with her highness.
10 days after the passing of the Queen, the Canadian visited his Niagara falls estate, where his picture with the Queen is gracing the walls. Apparently, the picture dates back to 2002, when the Great one shared the guest panel with her highness at an ice hockey tournament.

On 19th September 2022, the official Instagram handle of the White Tornado’s Niagara on-the-lake and Okanagan estates shared a still of Gretzky. In the picture, the Canadian is looking at the framed photo of himself with the Queen of England.
Captioning the post, Gretzky estates penned, “we had the honour of hosting Wayne Gretzky at our Niagara on-the-lake estate yesterday”. The Great one recalled the time when he met her majesty during an NHL event in Vancouver. The Gretzky estates further wrote, “Beautiful moment of Wayne reminiscing his time meeting Queen Elizabeth II”.
Clearly, Gretzky paid his earnest eulogy to the Queen by recalling the time he accompanied her on the red carpet in 2002 during the pre-season playoffs.

On October 27, 2002, the ‘Great one’ shared the guest panel of spectators with the Queen at Vancouver’s GM palace. Her Highness was invited to witness the playoffs between the Vancouver Canucks and San Jose Sharks. Ice hockey royalty accompanied the guest of honor, Queen Elizabeth II, as Wayne Gretzky escorted her down the red carpet. As both dignitaries made their presence on the ice rink, the White Tornado handed the puck to her majesty.
