During the time of the interview, Paulina Gretzky was still officially single. The classical singer went for the interview to promote her then-upcoming Universal Records debut. When it came to her dating life, Paulina Gretzky was asked if she would go for someone who proved to be a decent match for her online. Gretzky said that (that) was a big no-no for her. Considering her life as a celebrity, Gretzky was not a fan of the anonymity angle concerning identity on the internet. Since catfishing on the internet is a common occurrence, a young Paulina wanted to avoid it at all costs.
Paulina Gretzky further spoke about how she likes to be pursued. She revealed that if a guy wants to take her out on a date, he will have to man up. Gretzky liked to be asked out directly or over a call instead of a text. She added along the lines of how chivalry is nearly dead and believed that there are things that men of her age don’t do anymore.
Paulina spoke about what her mother instilled in her concerning her romantic indulgences. She revealed that her mother taught her not to go after the men. As reported by Complex, she said, “That’s one thing my mother always taught me: You don’t chase men. They’re supposed to fight for you. They are supposed to show you respect.”

During the interview with Complex, Paulina Gretzky listed down what were the biggest turn-offs for her. Adding to her no-texting-only-calling rule, she said, “If you wanna ask me out, you’re gonna have to call me and ask me like a gentleman. You’re gonna have to be a man about it.” Another quality she looked for in a man was honesty. In fact, it has been enumerated on multiple occasions how Paulina Gretzky hates dishonesty. If a man was dishonest, it was enough for Gretzky to fall out of love!
She shared that if a guy was interested in someone else, they should say it up front instead of stringing someone else along. Another thing that Gretzky detested was bad breath. She said, “Oh, and bad breath. That is a no-no. Other than that, we’re good.”
