Is it time for Canada to take revenge or Team USA will sweep the floor again in 4 Nations? Hockey fans, buckle up because the rematch we’ve all been craving is officially locked in! Canada defeated Finland 5-3 in their match at TD Garden, thanks to Nathan MacKinnon scoring two goals, Connor McDavid scoring a goal and an assist, and Sidney Crosby nailing an empty-net goal. The boys in red as usual rose to the occasion to ensure that they create a platform for the much-anticipated clash against their arch-rivals, the United States.
Of course, Sweden and the U.S. are still to play another game of the group stage, but come on, it’s all about the final now. People are rushing for the seats and the tickets are getting very expensive as this is not just any match; it’s another chapter in the age-old hockey war between Canada and the USA.
NHL insider Chris Johnston took to X on February 17 to break the news, and let’s just say—your wallet might not be ready. “If you don’t already have tickets to Thursday’s 4 Nations championship game at TD Garden, it’s going to cost you a pretty penny to get inside and watch USA/Canada.” And by “pretty penny,” we’re talking $1,250 for row 15. Yep, that’s just for one seat, not a VIP experience, not an all-you-can-eat deal—just a chance to witness the USA vs. Canada showdown live.

And if you think that is steep, wait, there is more—the highest ticket price identified in the screenshot that Johnston provided? A whopping $1,279! It appears that fans are ready to break the bank for this one.
And well, last Saturday, the USA defeated Canada 3-1 in the round-robin round of the 4 Nations, giving the fans one of the most intense and entertaining hockey games of recent years. And when we say intense, we mean it—within the first nine seconds, there were three fights. That defeat also put an end to the Canadians’ mind-boggling 17-game winning run in best-on-best international games against the USA. It is therefore not surprising that this one will be a highly priced event. And who knows? As fans break the bank to enter TD Arena, those at home might just also rack up numbers as insane as the last time.
4 Nations see viewership records get broken!
The last USA vs. Canada clash had hockey fans glued to their screens, and SportsBiz reporter Alex M. Silverman took to X on February 16th to drop some jaw-dropping numbers that sent shockwaves through the hockey world. “Last night’s #4Nations game between the U.S. and Canada averaged 4.4 million viewers in the U.S. on ABC, according to Nielsen fast national data. It peaked at 5.2 million. Most-viewed non-Stanley Cup Final hockey telecast since 2019.” Yeah, you read that right.

Now let me tell you, the numbers that were presented delivered immense heat! ESPN did the math and surprisingly, this game attracted 473% more viewers than the viewership of the 2016 World Cup of Hockey and 369% more than the NHL on ABC’s usual games. The NHL had been long looking bring back true best-on-best international hockey, and it’s safe to say that they’ll be patting themselves on the back after seeing these numbers.
The last time hockey achieved such a feat? You guessed it, 2019. But this? This was on a whole different level. NHL or not, this was the game, two great teams, one battle for bragging rights, and a showdown that had fans completely locked in. Now that there is another 4 Nations game on the horizon, who will emerge the winner and take the glory? Let us know in the comments!
