“Feel Like a Zoo Animal Out There”: Wayne Gretzky’s Daughter Paulina Was Severely Affected by Increased Media Attention in 2014

Likewise, Canadian Ice Hockey player Wayne Gretzky’s daughter, Paulina Gretzky often falls prey to the media bustle, solely because of her well-regarded background.

Back in 2014, Paulina appeared in an interview with Golfdigest and disclosed a lot of interesting facts about herself and her family. From her upbringing to her first meeting with golfer fiance Dustin Johnson, Paulina shared everything with the host.

At a later point in the interview, the host asked Paulina about all the media attention that she gets and about her take on the press comments. On this, Paulina said, “Sometimes I feel like a zoo animal out there. People think I can’t hear them but I can definitely hear you. If anything, just come over and talk to me. I’m not someone people should be afraid of”.

As per the talk, Paulina appreciated the Press for their exclusive coverage, but she also complained about the media’s continuous hassle with their privacy. Paulina said, “Everyone is usually very sweet, and there hasn’t been a bad moment for me”. She further added, “But I do feel more comfortable if I’m walking with someone. Of course, sometimes I just want to watch Dustin play golf, and I hope people respect that”.

Growing up as a star kid naturally attracts the media’s attention. Also, Paulina started her career as a model at the very young age of 16 and had appeared in various photoshoot campaigns since then. By the age of 25, she had already starred in many movies as the protagonist. The point being, Paulina’s vocation of acting and modeling keeps her surrounded by media. While the press and media bring in a lot of fame and success, it also sometimes indulges in one’s privacy.
