On Thursday night, Philadelphia Flyers crushed the Edmonton Oilers, ending it at 2-1 in the shootout. What became the highlight of the match was the performance of the goalies. The goaltenders of the two teams successfully saved nearly 99 shots sent their way in total.

Not long after the match, NHL shared the highlights on their YouTube channel. This gave the fans the opportunity and platform to analyze the game and share their opinion. It didn’t take long for the fans to do just that. Many fans praised the Flyers for their spectacular performance against the legacy franchise. Some also pointed out how the goal tenders saved the game.

The highlight of the match was uploaded on the NHL’s official Youtube channel. Fans took to the platform to share their views about the match. One fan commented, “Tortorella has them playing well. If injuries hadn’t taken out 2 good players they would be playoff bound. Vaunted Edmonton was stymied at every turn.”

“Good game. Very good tight game both teams gave nothing away and defences were strong. Flyers at wait to shootout…..,” another one added. A third fan wrote, “Connor MCDavid is a dawg he is the best player in the NHL right now.”

Moreover, many fans complimented the performance of the goaltenders. One such fan wrote, “That was the most blatant goalie interference call I’ve ever seen idk how it was even called a goal on the ice.” Another one added, “Goalies back be about to break from carrying their teams so hard.”

Furthermore, sharing his analysis, one fan wrote, “Boy there’s a goaltending battle. Multiple bad giveaways and soft plays giving the Flyers chances on a silver platter, but Skinner held the score down to get to OT. And on the other side Hart wasn’t given an easy night either. Neither goaltender should be paying for a meal this weekend.”

Among the fans of the respective team, there was one fan who was just there for the game. He wrote, “I don’t root for either team, but watching these highlights was highly entertaining! And it was goalie interference, no doubt.”

Additionally, this isn’t the Oilers’ first defeat of the season that evoked different emotions from the fans. Earlier this month Edmonton Oilers‘ loss against their prime opponents Los Angeles Kings left the fans enraged. The Oilers’ next game will be against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, 10th February 2023.
